Support The New WHCR Care 365 Campaign
Last
year The New WHCR and Dove House Hospice launched its Care 365 campaign
which will encourage local businesses to support the hospice throughout
the year.
For a donation of £365 per year, companies get to sponsor their
own day at the hospice and join a group of local corporate supporters.
Towergate Risk Solutions in Hull launched the campaign.
Rob Wilson, Managing Director Towergate Risk Solutions Hull, said:“The
Hull branch of Towergate has supported Dove House Hospice for many years
now and has done all sorts to raise money. I’ve personally been
“arrested” for the day as part of their lock up your boss
campaign, we’ve held a barn dance and many of my colleagues have
taken part in events such as the midnight walk and fun run. Many of our
staff also donate to the hospice through our payroll and Towergate match
anything we raise locally too.
“We think it is very important to support local causes and think
the work the hospice does is vital and worthy of our support. We want
to show our customers that we invest in their community, in their hospice,
and by becoming a Care 365 supporter we’re doing just that.”
Supporters of the Care 365 Campaign receive a plaque to display in their
premises to show their support and are promoted throughout the hospice
on their chosen day, as well as on the hospice website. The New WHCR also
broadcasts live from the business premises during their day to showcase
their support and each company will be invited to an annual networking
event with other Care 365 supporters.
Sarah Cusick, fundraising manager, said:“For the equivalent of just
£1 per day our Care 365 companies are able to make such a difference
at the hospice. To run the hospice each year costs a staggering £4.7
million and so we really rely on local businesses to help us raise as
much as possible.
“Care 365 is a great way of getting involved with the hospice and
interacting with our other corporate supporters. Some Care 365 companies
make a one off donation, some pay monthly and others hold a fundraising
day in their workplaces to raise the £365 – this means every
business can get involved and tailor the day to suit them.”
The Care 365 campaign has been awarded a grant by the Towergate Innovations
in Income Generation Grants Programme to enable the hospice to launch
the appeal at minimal cost meaning more money can be generated for patient
care.
